Here you’ll find articles that I’ve written for some publications as well as my substack!
First, a story on my relationship to writing:
Neither of my parents completed middle school. We migrated to the U.S. when I was almost six so I picked up the language, English, during primal language development years. English is my second language, maybe even my third if I count the Dizza (Zapoteco), which was spoken around me at home and with relatives as a young child. My parents were working-class people; they didn’t read to or with me. I kept a journal when I was younger, but in highly communal cultures privacy is almost non-existent. My journal was invaded and that also stunted my curiosity to explore more of my writing. Thats why sharing my writing is vulnerable and powerful. Thank you for engaging with these pieces.
